The sun is shining and the ice cream kiosks are ready to serve you a scoop or two of Korcula’s finest gelato. With a number of low cost airliners now flying daily into Dubrovnik and Split, June is the perfect time to visit Korcula and there are plenty of great reasons to be here next month.
Queen’s Diamond Jubilee 2- 5 June 2012
Fellow Brits why not make the most of the long Bank Holiday Weekend celebrating Queen Elizabeth’s 60 year reign and head over to Korcula. The British Empire left its mark even here during the 19th century (albeit their rule was very short). Although sadly now a little dilapidated you can still visit the Piazzeta, a paved semi-circle terrace (head east from Korcula Town) or the Forteca (Fort Wellington) located high in the hills above Korcula.
You can save yourself money by holidaying in June rather than the busy months of July and August when accommodation rates are at their highest. We have availability for the Bank Holiday Weekend with prices for sea view studio apartments sleeping 2 people from €50.00 per night and 2 bedroom apartments from €80.00 per night.
Euro 2012 8 June – 1 July 2012
Although we aren’t sure where our allegiances should lie, England or Croatia, we will be celebrating Euro 2012 on Korcula. The bars around Korcula will be showing the live games so come and show your support for your team.

1st England Game 11 June 18:00 France v England
Start of Summer Programmes – Starts from mid to late June
Throughout summer the towns and villages on Korcula host a range of summer activities from musical evenings to fashion shows, to gastronomy tastings to donkey racing! Full programmes will be announced soon by the local Tourist Boards and Cultural Centres and we will post the information when we receive it.
Half New Year – 30 June 2012
You should not be anywhere other than Korcula on 30 June as the town turns into an open air party celebrating Half New Year. Food and drink kiosks line the streets, music blares out on every corner and people donning extravagant fancy dress parade around. The atmosphere is electric and the experience is something very unique.
